The thing is: up until the holocaust and the chinkout COVER was running a very lean operation with the girls and a staff (outnumbered by the girls) surviving out of donations and ad revenue for the most part.

1) COVER found a way out of the mess they were: they could succeed, but they would have to professionalize their operation and become “ad friendly” to the ***japanese*** sponsorship market (that qualification is important)
2) A lot of the “leeway” they had with regards to the girls behavior was no more, specially with respect to permissions and public image
Most of the girls could find a new niche but Coco? She was bruised by the chinkout, blacklisted by half the industry including her very own EN branch and couldn’t possibly continue being the “mad man in a crazy world”.
She was better off leaving on a high note than withering and dying as she was already in process.
