>>22712584I'm actually faculty at one of the CUNY colleges and from what I've seen I can say it's definitely satire, but not because of gmail. A lot of our organizations, especially the student-run ones, use gmail for official communications. What really makes it false though, is two things. One, the join date, Jan 2022. CUNY as a system was created in 1961, but quite a few of the colleges were opened as early as the 1840's. If it was really official CUNY social media as it would be for something like an open house, it would have been created a lot earlier. For example, the official twitter for my institution was created in 2011. Second, there isn't really an open house for CUNY in general, just the individual colleges. And if you google CUNY open house, it's not religious as the account implies, and mostly just comprises a bunch of online workshops and seminars, none religion-focused. CUNY in general is a-religious; the most it gets is student-run organizations for the various faiths, the largest ones tending to be the ones for Muslims. The account's still a very fun read though.
