I feel like that's the best way to go about it, not only to save time, but also to avoid potential confusing plot holes from going back and forth like that. When I remember something I need to change, I just write a note below where I'm currently at in the story and address it later. It's tiring to be reading for an hour and two, then looking over to see you're not done with even half of the pages. But Rome wasn't built in a day, so... ganbare.
