Investors only want maximum short-term growth and profit for themselves. They don't care about the company either. Even if the CEO cares about the company, they'll just vote him out.
This combination leads to enshittification, where inevitably, by design, the product of the company gets invariably worse. IPO is the death knell of any genuinely great company.
