>>803430The more eventful a time is, the longer it seems. HoloEN has only been around for about six months, but they've been the longest six months of Hololive's history in terms of dramatic events.
>>803535Nah, that theory has always been kind of a croc of shit in my own estimation. Good times don't create weak men, because good and weak men are present in all times, good or bad.
If I were to make a theory for the thread based off the core structure, though, I'd say it's like this.
>change brings Excitement and Pain.>people revel in the excitement, but abhor the pain.>people create new cultures and norms, which idolize the new excitements while demonizing the pain.>in time, those new norms become ingrained and accepted, and the pain fades. But so too does the excitement.>people who were drawn to the excitements begin to feel as if something important has been lost, not realizing it was because of the Change. So they start to believe the Pain was the cause of the Excitement itself, not a byproduct.>because of this, people start to long for the days when Pain and Excitement were at their peaks, because the pleasure is remembered vividly, while the pain is only remembered abstractly,>some people may even try and emulate the Pain in the hopes of bringing about Excitement in the same measure as before, but because it isn't Change, all it does is retread old, painful ground without any Excitement madeAnd that last part is a holding pattern until new Change comes.
But I prefer to take the mindset of an old man on his rocking chair, looking over the railing to see the good times that were come. Appreciating that you helped to make a world where the hardships of the present are so much easier than the hardships of the past.
