Fun Fact: Chernobyl is still a risk to the entirety of Middle Europe. The intense radioactive magma is still there, and it has barely cooled down despite being in the Earth for nearly fifty years. The Russians still have to develop state of the art containment measures to hold the magma at bay, because if they don't, the magma will make contact with water underground, which will make it explode into the air as super-radioactive gas, rendering most of the middle of Europe into a Zone just as uninhabitable as the one around Pripryat now.
