Technically VTube Studio was able to do it first... But if Niji isn't able to get it working a couple of weeks after Holo is able to do it, it'll be a complete embarrassment for Niji on the tech side of things.

All that matters is that Holo was able to do it first before Niji. Hololive and Nijisanji both have their own unique vtubing software, and Hololive was implement it first. It's even more pathetic that Nijisanji is last to implement the feature.

Nope, each person would just have to buy a copy to remove the watermark. One downside is that their proprietary software has a collab feature that makes it so they don't have to individually stream their models to each other through discord to combine with chroma key in OBS. Basically they join a "room" that each person's phone sends facial tracking data to that renders the models together. This way the actual talents don't have access to their models' data which I assume is a big reason why the companies still use their own software.

pathetic indies aren't even a competitor, they could have codemiko tech and if they are only getting a few hundred viewers or less they aren't even competition, good tech doesn't make up for boring performer. But Holos are entertaining, so getting access to better tech can only eponentially expand their appeal and power. Meanwhile indies are a bunch of coping and seething weaklings, and nijisanji is horribly behind the times.

Proprietary gaining a new feature still trumps any freewave indie tech. It also has a pseudo-effect of hyping up the crowd who didn’t think it would happen, meaning the 2views take a hit because they aren’t necessarily the only market available for such anymore.
