Unicorns are not going to be held against their will and polled if they like something a girl did or not, they actually probably 99% by numbers just duck out of the stream and it is rare one will actually speak up to the girl's face functionally on Twitter/YouTube. So, they don't see a credible counter-crowed because most of it is polite enough to just leave the vtuber be. In effect the people pushing something you don't want may get louder BECAUSE they do not perceive a credible counter argument to their collective reasoning, and assume they are 1000% correct in their deductions since any detractors so rarely speak up directly and so are taken as just fringe crazy people to be ridiculed. A lot of people all believing in something doesn't make them right or make the notion true.

Through that noise however actual consistent trends here -can- be observed and one of them is unicorns/gachikoi really are a way larger portion of the viewers than you could ever discern looking over a stream chat or comments and this seems to upset people who thought there were almost none. I'd say it is more parasocial subhuman simp behavior to defend literally any choice a vtuber makes even if it is content you didn't ask for or plan on having to rationalize, than it is to treat a vtuber as transactional and make it clear that you as a customer will threaten to leave if the content turns away from your taste. People anti-ing unicorns are working against their own interests by removing any notion of standards or expectations and then you wind up with shit like nijiEN and vshojo. If the "normal well adjusted" people who love co-ed content are such a crushing majority then why aren't nijiEN boy/girl collabs getting like 100k CCV? Where are all those supporters?
