Now that you mention it I do sort of think that way.
I don't give a shit about roommates and I only give a shit about the characters, or rather; the gestalt sum of the character plus the actors personality: the vtuber itself. it's what I believe vtubing is actually supposed to be like. What with how the girls are choosing to be anonymous/pseudonymous. That's why I have zero issue with graduations, when they graduate it's just the end of the character; like the end of a TV show I greatly enjoyed that will never get more episodes, the same roommate might start streaming again somewhere but it's really not the same content if the character is different and the context the character exists in is also different. Having a few unique Haruhi lines on a pachinko machine doesn't replace Haruhi being in an entire anime, but shit wouldn't be the same if hey fully replaced her whore VA in a hypothetical S3, but I don't really seiyuufag over Hirano anyway and don't give a shit about what she does irl; all in all, just like shit that isn't on my screen in vtubing, nothing to get worked up over.
I know people love to joke about muh parasocialism but at the end of the day it still is a bad thing
