I don't think some of them realize the time investment of making ASMR is shit when they can just go fire up some mediocre steam game and talk about something you saw on twitter the other day. If you routinely do ASMR and get your workflow down then you can build a library on youtube, but the offhand random video is going to be a lot of effort for minimal return. Especially if they want it to have a run time over 15 minutes. Sitting there waggling keys in front of a mic for an hour while playing it back to yourself is brutally boring.
Also you can't really do good asmr with sound only since a lot of people need a visual component to get the tingle. You're kind of baited into making gooncore RP shit so while people aren't busting an asmr nut at least they might get a boner out of it.
