a non-insane theory on why I love being a chumbud in 2024

No.90844717 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
lemme preface by saying I've been disappointed by Gura's communication levels in the past couple months, and I agree with criticism that she could do better

being a chumbud in 2024 is actually awesome, for 3 reasons:
>no fear of talent graduation
>we still get occasional content

1. No fear of talent graduation
Simply put, there is no reason for Gura to graduate. she is clearly working at minimum level, has no ambitions beyond what she's doing, and she is still using hololive for money as proven by recent sponsorships and appearances. in a world where talents go schizo and leave the company due to disagreements with their managers when they had the opportunity to sit there collecting fat checks for doing nothing at all, Gura is actually one of the safest talents to oshi in holoen.

2. we still get occasional content
there are many beloved content creators who upload once or twice a year, and don't get any flak for it. if someone like X or Y started streaming everyday for a period of 2 years, you wouldn't be angry that they stopped, you would be happy they did it. the idea that, just because Gura did it in a different order, it should elicit a completely different reaction, is completely illogical.

3. it's more fun this way
the idea of "I'm gonna be sad when my oshi leaves" or "I wish she would stream more often" is just not fun. if you're expecting it, you're going to be disappointed. if you want more, you're going to be disappointed. if you're afraid of the possibility of her leaving, you're going to be disappointed.

I enjoy the uncertainty. the anticipation of wondering when she's going to stream next. the surprise when she finally does. it makes it more exciting. sure, I want her to stream every day, but I'm not going to be mad when she doesn't, and I'm certainly not going to think she's a bad person because of it.

I enjoy being a chumbud in 2024, and I hope it stays this way.

and for those of you who don't agree with my thoughts, just remember that Gura said she wanted to make more people happy. and one of the ways to make me happy is to not stream as much.

so, you know, thanks, Gura. you're doing a good job.

I am going to go take a nap now, since I have nothing better to do until you decide to stream next.

goodnight, /hlgg/.

also, fuck off, Civia.
