I've been doing what you said with drawing long lines and taking out parts that overlap with the pathfinder tool; that's insanely useful. My lines are kind of chubby like that just because I'm loving playing around with that right now. It makes lines look so much cooler than just strokes. Like in the hand here I love how the outside edge gets kind of fat and then skinnier then fatter again. Or in the hair ornament I love how those lines look too. Looks kind of playful I guess I would call it? I should probably try to keep them more regular, but I'm just doing this for myself right now anyway and I like how it looks. If I were to start doing requests and such for other people though, they might not like that.
I'll definitely keep practicing and probably keep posting things in these threads because you people give great pointers.
