>>8100399 here. If we're handing out recommendations then I'll give a strong one for Inkscape. It's a vector editor as opposed to a raster editor, so it's a pretty different style of drawing compared to GIMP and
Paint.NET, but it's really nice when you get used to it. Imported raster images can be scaled without losing quality, you can use the area outside the page as a scratch board, the final image can be exported to any resolution you want, etc. All the images I uploaded were made in Inkscape (though i did use GIMP for the second one to make some masks).
Also, I dug up another wallpaper. This one was made in Blender back in 2018.
