>>1214945Interesting despite the small sample size because it proves that the board doesn't have nearly as "veteran" of a userbase as it poses itself up. Those stats on "Everyone is gay in Gensokyo" are however very good so my opinion is already a bit better
>Beyond even that point, you can appreciate Touhou a whole lot without touching the games and without being a secondaryGenuinely do not believe this because its soul is strongly in the games themselves. Because thats what it actually is. Characters were made in that context because most entries have some sort of theme. Tracks were composed with the stages and said characters (and the tempo of their fight) in mind. If you listened to PCBs (or any other) OST a hundred times over but didnt actually play it wasnt experienced in the intended way and will never have the same effect
In addition it doesn't take itself too seriously. The premise is inherently a bit silly. It's great to talk about the mythological background of everything or random details (eg. Marisa is a womanlet due to sniffing mercury because eastern alchemy) and i think everyone who's sincerely into it has favorites who are very near and dear to their heart, but getting all fired up over lore is odd
>It's driven us to be even more defensive and insular than we normally areWait, thats whats happening? Had these moments with people who "like" it for the worst reasons possible offsite where id similarly go berserk, but strange strange things piss people off on jp. Feels much more like playing some sort of pretend
>We're also just horny in generalThing is most of the threads consist of nothing but sitting around and mild shitposting whilst dumping your found fanart broken up by occasional surge of needless seethe. Why would i circlejerk my wife with other men who may or may not even understand her properly because they didnt play
Also half the time my posts dont bump a thread even though there's nothing wrong with them. Whats up with that
