Hello,
I recently bought a pair of Astro A30s due to the fact that they were on discount and that I have formerly had amazing experiences with Astro products (including my old pair of A30s). Although my old pair of A30s had their quirks, they were an overall solid headset, and I was very disappointment when they ended up breaking (this was completely my fault).
My new pair of A30s however have been nothing but a pain to deal with. The mobile app has been oversimplified since the last time I have used it and I have been unable to figure out how to fix the apparent software issue with the headset. Whenever connected to bluetooth (2.4 ghz mode as well as wired work fine) they will randomly power on and off as well as randomly connect and disconnected unless they are actively playing audio.
The on-headset controls also do not work at all except to control volume and noise pass-through, despite the app and manual saying that I should be able to control track selection from the button (my old pair were able to do this on mobile).
I am extremely aggravated as I have loved Astro's headsets above pretty much every other pair of headphones/headsets I have used (Sony, Skullcandy, JBL), and I personally consider the A30s to both be more comfortable and better built than my XM5s.
I dont mean this as a dig against Astro, as all of their other headsets that I have had have been amazing (and I have friends who have the ones that I don't have and they really like them), but I am kind of annoyed at their A30s, especially because I was planning on getting a second pair for my boyfriend for his birthday.
