Help a boomer out with anime recommendations

No.800602 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I'd like to ask for a quite specific recommendation and I apologize to anyone here, who might be offended by that. TL,DR: Looking for a romantic anime/manga, with preferably happy or at least an fulfilling ending. Here's a bit more of background:

I'm 30 years old, used to watch anime back in the days (2004 until 2010), but then I stopped completely. I have not had a lot of interest in the genre since then - outside of looking for some updates on Berserk - but due to the Corona outbreak I pretty much watched everything interesting on Netflix, until I delved back in to "the dark side" of anime. I gave a few shows a try, but they all were god damn boring, outside of Haikyu. Nevertheless, I finally found a show that really caught my interest: High score girl. It arose some of the feelings I used to have as teenager, when I first started watching anime. I was never too much into moe-girls and the insecure harem/romantic animes (Though Love Hina & especially School rumble were god damn priceless). Now that I think back at it, I think Maison Ikkoku was the show, which made me completely bored of anime and I stopped more or less watching - I can't stand it, if the plot gets dragged out extensively. Something about the High School Girl really caught me. I loved the retro gaming aspects, but it was the romantic relationship between the protagonists that made me have that same kind of insatiable interest to watch further, and also that anxiety we experience when the show end. I really enjoyed the naivity of the whole relationship and also the silent female protagonist really aroused my interest (Due to mystery, I guess). All in all, I found the show really cute. I wasn't expecting to feel this way about anime again.

So, do you guys have any recommendations similar to High score girl? It doesn't have to be about games - I'm more after the romantic development.
