>>106653357as the resident /qa/ expert i'll tell you exactly what happened because it still bugs me
>In theory a good ideaa strong statement because metaposting (posting about the site itself, not the board) what the board itself had decided it'd discuss after the Q&A
then a group of users had decided that actually the site was not worth discussing because /pol/fags and horsefuckers were too annoying and so the only recourse would've been to make the board into a 2d/random clone like the original /b/
in april 2016 when /mlpol/ invaded and the board was frozen they moved to to old/jp/ splinter boards and became acquainted with the experts in "board warfare" that posted there (because that's how old/jp/ splinter boards operate)
then when they came back they brought over basically everybody else in those boards, who decided to make it "their own" using spambots, floodbots and the like; actually way more than just the one you describe but they all served the same goal
the mods stopped caring about the board at large very soon so it was a free-for-all for the "domination" of the board
of course the annoying /pol/fags never left and simply became ever more autistic and the war raged on with both sides spamming ever harder (but the "animefags" as they called them were pretty much always in the lead)
meanwhile me and the rest of the metaposters were basically confined to a few threads, including the test thread and the happenings thread, which were mod-sanctioned as the only places where you could still find posts by anonymous ## developer
>Probably didn't work out in the long runit actually did! what happened was that mods decided one day to actually put their foot down and very quickly the 2d/random side realized that keeping up with all the antispam measures was more trouble than the board was worth so they left
whether this was because they realized that most posters were already using /qa/-likes on other sites, or because they started getting too cocky, or whatever else, depends on whose "side" you like more, because there's no real good way to tell
either way mods stopped giving a shit almost immediately; /pol/fags rejoiced for a while, then they largely left too, and the board was peaceful for maybe a couple months at best
and then since basedjak was the hot thing at the time it was constantly lambasted, which aaccrued a group of retards from /bant/, /v/, /pol/ etc. who decided it was the funniest thing ever and kept spamming it until things got WAY WAY WORSE than before, hence why
>it was filled with wojak and pepe shit.but by that point the board was directly making the website worse as a whole since the aforementioned literal cancer was heading raids onto other boards, trying to bring the site down, spamming on almost every board, and so on
they also made their own board, which you might know as the group that hacked 4chan earlier this year!
