Elohim (singular) created everything, YHVH of the Elohim ran an experiment on Eden and created his own Man.
Adam is used in Genesis 1, It means Man. That's etymologycally correct: Adam comes from Dam (Blood) which gives Adom (Red) which gives Adamah (Earth) because the ground of that area was red. Edom comes from this idea as well.
Adam was never a name but a sustantive. neither Adam has supremacy over the other
