>>11113279>it all tastes similarly bitter and ashen.That's probably caused by the way you prepare it. 90% of the taste of coffee depends on how it was ground, whether the grinds are uniform, and the temperature at which you made it. If it isn't finely and uniformly ground, and you brew it too fast with a temperature too high, then some particles may not be fully extracted while the finer ones will be burned and give it that "ashen" taste. 99% of people do it like this. Very few people have tasted a good coffee that isn't burned.
Then I could get into the finer details like quality of the water, etc etc but that'd be overkill. Just don't use tap water unless you have a good filtering system.
