Those boats are pretty far out, I'll grant that. But there's always the "just sail about twice as far then" response, so until we get something we can clearly measure and test rather than just a camera zooming in it's useless.

I don't know what's going on with that image, I'll have to take a closer look at it. I expect it's either fake or isn't what you claim it is. But who knows, maybe I'll be convinced.

Yeah I know you can change the spin of water in a funnel, I do things like that all the time. The relation to toilet bowls however is not necessarily an example of that. But I'll admit it may well be an urban legend, I was planning on testing it if I ever went to the southern hemisphere and so with that I neglected to actually pay attention to which direction it spins in the north to confirm if it's consistent in the first place.
