it is a nice mix of opinions since in addition to being pretty different types of people fundamentally they all have pretty different backgrounds with this type of stuff.
for example joey is from australia originally but speaks japanese at a native level since he's half japanese and spent most of his childhood/adolescence moving between the two countries regularly. meanwhile garnt didn't have any background with japan coming in, but was in a similar situation with thailand so he has some experience with living abroad and asia in general. then connor is truly just a baka gaijin who lived in wales most of his life.
