Eventually the pressure equalizes to the degree that sufficent oxygen from the surrounding air can make contact with the superheated and ionized "stuff" sucked up into the cloud and stalk: which then re-ignites in the presence of sufficent oxygen. The "embers" "DEBOONKERS" see are tree trunks and pieces of the base.
