I like the KJV but some prefer the NKJV, which is basically the same without the Thee, thou, though.
ESV and RSV is my next favorite. English Standard Version, and Revised Standard Version... It's very nice and not too modern. Good readability.
NIV has many mistranslations and omissions when it comes to deliverance and spiritual warfare etc. That's why it's often criticized...
