>>17297944This is commonly done by religious cults. The Salvation Army is the most famous example; if you're young and able-bodied, they'll try to recruit you. In their heyday, ISKCON (Hare Krishna) were also big recruiters of homeless people; they didn't just bus people to the commune though, they had them busking, publishing and selling books, incense, clothing. It's not completely dead yet.
I've found that successful cults combine hypnosis and other psychological techniques to recruit and control members. If you watch videos of Indian gurus speaking, you can start to identify some of the techniques they use to hypnotize their audience. A much better learning experience would be to actually join a cult.
