Wendy hallucinations-> Blood elevator-> Dopey sticker on door. When Wendy is with the social worker-> no hallucination-> no sticker.
He did the same throughout the movie using the tour of the hotel as the baseline. Then when hallucinations are happening carpet patterns are different, light fixtures are gone, etc. And there's no way this was an accident in a Kubrick film. He was obsessive about every detail.
