I am born in simple middle class family, average mind, but followed the rat race and did ECE engineering, till this day I regret it. Seriously why the hell colleges in India have so many electronics seats when there are no opportunities in it in India! Almost 90% of us get stuck in low life service based company which has nothing to do with elec engineering as well as computer engineering either.
So what if we try PSUs or GATE, I am from open category , good luck with that. I got 97 percentile in GATE in first attempt but couldn't get into prime institutes in India, while one my friend from so called backward class got 81 percentile & he got into one of the IIT. Both of his parents have good jobs at home, they have farms, huge house & two cars to roll. When is India going to get rid off this unfair reservation system? It's because of the same reason I didn't get comp branch in engineering, n people were saying ECE is better n all that shit.
Then at home, my father always compares me with someone better, 'look his package is that much', 'And look at your schools friend , he cracked the IAS!', I say, 'Dad, may be he is just smarter than me, and besides why don't you look at his father, he is accomplished businessman & he always gives son whatever he asks!' , then I get heavily lambasted! So the rule that 'everybody is different' applies to him but not to me!
I never understood the jingoism & so called 'our culture is best' thing either. I enjoy Hollywood serials and movies more than ours anyway.
I have decided that I not gonna have any children of my own if I am going to live in India. Firstly, just because everyone does it, & 'to bring children into this world because we want to' attitude is wrong according to me. Competition here is getting more & more suffocating. Even if I live alone for rest of my life, it's fine, it's my choice, at least I won't have the feeling that I destroyed a life because of my happiness and pleasure.
