>>3608637One question I have is where do the colors for each chakra come from. In one of the forms of buddhist meditation, the first I ever came in contact with, the color red did correspond to the throat one and the blue to the heart, while the third eye one was "crystalline light".
Is there a specific reason for that?
>>3608639It's great to see other fellows finding out how to use that knowledge in their everyday life. Balance as in your case and general mastery over one's own body are one of the many useful things awareness and manipulation of the energy centers is good for.
I personally use it to change my overall feelings and attitudes when I notice I'm getting too moody in the day-to-day. To not let outside things to take hold on me and stay calm and collected no matter what happens. I "see" or feel a red light in my throat and this has several immediate effects: my attitude does a 180º turn and I become more compassionate and friendly person, and my voice is instantly tuned down to a lower, more grave pitch. This little trick, although I only remember to do it from time to time, really allows me to contact with people and manage better relations and interactions with others (ie: immediately become more confident, assertive, etc). I haven't had that much in the way of stress and depressions for long periods of time when I practiced this.
Right now it sounds to me like the most trivial and easy thing in the world and it really takes me effort to realize most people are pretty much completely unable to manage their emotions, and are driven by them when triggered by the littlest external stimuli.
