Boston-anon here, the whole east coast of Mass. is populated with descendants of Irish immigrants. I always felt the potato-nigger description was true, but my boss is actually from Ireland, moved here like 30 years ago, and he's wicked based, he even voted for Trump (immigrants for Trump, yeah!). So I've asked him before and he refers to Irish-Americans as "plastic Irish".
