>>11828163sounds to me like your own sort of autism considering you'll probably have to do several runs anyway before you manage to beat it. most people would try and do incrementally harder runs and change squads every once in a while just so things don't get stale while they're trying to meet their new goal
that's hilarious because the shield squad is the only other one i considered mentioning as painful. it's not quite as bad as the unstable ones since the shield bash mech can be fun at least, but the other two are awkward at best and dogshit at worst
the game punishes mistakes pretty hard but in my opinion it's much more straightforward. FTL had a lot of smaller decisions you had to make throughout the course of a run and you were sort of out on your own entirely trying to pull together a "build" that works and figure out how to play it. with into the breach you have way fewer and simpler options available to you outside of combat and in combat it's simple as "try to find a way to make sure buildings don't take every damage" every single turn with some extra stuff on top of it.
