The metropolis anime is such a good movie.
It's not really that cult, but see it feels it a lot but yet, they made the style almost german as a result. I'm not entirely sure, but I think that's where it comes from. The art style itself and the clothing the characters wear etc, but it's not fascist at all, even though it has proto fascists in the movie.
There's this picture here basically this is one of the leaders of the underpass human society who lost their jobs to robots and are unemployed and live in poverty as a result. I don't know if they're like supposed to be like a cult or not exactly, the style is a little different then that.
But see, it's like because the style is more 'proper' it's somehow more respectable so it's considered okay or even good (the movie itself is considered good) and i find that somewhat ridiculous.
