What you need to do is learn how to jam, make it up as you go. Start with noodling and finding riffs or chord progressions you like, experiment. If you know the penatonic you can do this now. As you get better at it combine that stuff with songs you know, or just the blues stadard (12 bar I think). Then just start writing your own fresh stuff or jamming with others.
Also have good taste in music, dont be a fucking normie.
As for the discipline? Just play all the time. Whenever I figure out a technique or am coming up with something I think is cool, I usually suck at it. Still Ill play it all day, and when I go to bed, Ill suck more at it. Rinse and repeat and sometimes as soon as day three youll have improved startlingly and noticeably.
