Very insular people. Most communities outside the three big cities have lived together for decades and are highly inbred. They don't like mixing with outsiders and make this clear
Third world-tier infrastructure. Seriously, their main state highway between their capital Wellington and biggest city Auckland is for most of its length a shitty 2-lane windy road, turning into a one lane at bridges, making even short journeys take an age
Lots of Maoris who are basically the "we wuz kangs" niggers of NZ, wanting handouts and reparations while dole scrounging and taking amphetamines to help them stay awake through the night to continue their incest with their kids
Everything is expensive, because it has basically no manufacturing base (the only industries are farming and tourism) so everything needs to be imported. Lots of things you take for granted in a first world country just aren't available at all. Kiwis are also technologically about ten years behind the developed world - you still see video rental stores etc.
Any natural disasters takes about 10-15years to put right when other countries do it in 2-3. Christchurch still looks like a post-warzone, main "highway" in south island is still closed after an earthquake a year ago and people are shitting into buckets because of no running water
Incredible buerocracy for everything from filing taxes to registering your car. Lots of things still done on paper instead of online
Houses are basically made out of cardboard. Very cold, no insulation, damp problems, never come across houses with basic first world features like double glazing, insulated walls or central heating. Even million dollar houses are cold, drafty and damp
House prices are high because of rampant NIMBYism amongst the white pensioner population, despite the country having the lowest population density of any developed nation
