“You accused me of cowardice. You were wrong. I was in Japan to expand my business, and to connect with newly discovered family.” She gestures toward her companion and smiles. “This woman’s name is Lexi Kade, and she is one hell of an athlete. Too good to stay marooned in Japan, that’s for sure. And as you can tell from her name and our resemblance, she’s my flesh and blood.”
Cassie sighs. “But I suppose my words are largely wasted on you right now, given your current state. Too bad. But you had your fun, didn’t you?” she hisses. “Everything you’ve done to Kelly and Kasumi. The shooting outside my club. Calling me and The Widowmaker Society out for a Wargames match while I was in Japan…”
Cassie crouches next to Kanako, and slowly runs her hand back over her forehead, pushing bangs of hair away from her face. “And now look at you.” She chuckles. “You’re having a bad day, Kanako. And we’re going to make it worse.”
