>>10645226this, its the only way I have survived. The reason this industry is shilled so much is the rate of burnout, and lack of real talent. There are devs that can do the job technically, but very few are actual good developers that have style and personality. The amount of shit work you will have to do will leave you bald, obese, anxious mess, etc. If you are a gifted coder naturally, the money is cake. But if you are a person looking to make money because coding makes money, you will waste heaps of time, energy, and your own money learning that computers are cancer. I've been building sites since age 12, I have over 20 years experience (no college). I finally breached that 6 figure salary, I live near the beach, and soon I will be nuts deep in local pussy. That being said, I wish I spent my 20/30s learning how to build a business instead. As a developer you can only ever make so much, and the "startup" days are over. The people running the agency are making more money than you. Although web is decent if you can make it work, I'd recommend starting a business that you own instead. Web is golden handcuffs -- just comfy to keep you enslaved. If you are not autistic you will not survive.
