"We" don't fix shit because the complexity of fixing your own shit has grown exponentially. The whole world is relying on highly specialized workers, not the "average joe" that can unclog your toilet or unfuck your motor vehicle.
In the 60's if you broke something, you just looked into the mechanics, and your 80IQ brain could fix the thing. Now you have to be a trained specialist. I'd like to see you fix anything that isn't done by hand.
