It's been a long slow road downhill almost the entire time.
Things peaked 2005-2006 when the internet was still a wild west and then it all went to shit after the invention of the iPhone.
I fucked off around 2008 because the place got filled with normies discovering the internet for the first time and chanology pushing a huge ideological activist component on this place.
Returned in 2012 for whatever reason and I think I may have been better off just staying away entirely because every year is worse than the last one.
Still I wouldn't trade the experience, because this place has some magic to it and has always been at the forefront of the internet culture.
