Engineering when all is said and done results in a shape that is clearly more efficient than the rest.
Efficiency makes them cheaper, either to buy or to operate. And people like that, because they like having money for other stuff, rather than for you to feel "comfortable" surrounded by pretty cars.
You are free to start a "pretty" car company any time you like if you think they are that great. However, I can already tell in advance that it is going to end up as a niche 100k+ toy for rich Saudis.
