Some of the shit posted in this thread made me realize how incredibly tired I am of the "Ironic Meme" era that came following internet culture going mainstream. Everyone is a cynic and everyone claims to have some kind of mental disorder, be it depression or autism or both. It almost feels like people are genuinely afraid of showing genuine affection or appreciation towards anything, because the "cool" thing to do is to act indifferent.
Here's to hoping whatever comes next in the mixing bowl that is internet culture will be something more interesting than 20-something year olds sitting around talking about how they want to kill themselves without ever going through with it, because they don't actually want to die, it's just cool to say it, while pretending that they're too smart for this place.
