Are you familiar with Cyntoia Brown? She was a mixed race black prostitute who killed a White man when she was 15-years-old. You may recall that Kim Kardashian campaigned for her early release since she was charged with a life sentence as a minor. Immediately upon her release Cyntoia wrote a New York Times bestseller and liberal women all over the country were gushing about how she was a victim of her circumstances. I wasn't buying the victim narrative myself so I found a pirated copy of the book online and read it. I found out she was adopted by a middle-class White family when she was a baby and still chose a life of prostitution. She definitely was not a victim of her circumstances at all.
Now why would the left campaign for the release of a black woman who killed a White man in cold blood? I think that's a very complicated question with a multifaceted answer.
