>>11495462> New & Improved with More AirflowOn a dark and foggy rain-soaked night while carefully traveling the ~330° approach onto the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, I aquaplaned into a NYPD cruiser after it swung quickly around me, and stopped somewhere ahead of me, to aid an elderly couple whose car had stalled in the right hand lane after coming off same turn.
▪Had I noticed the police car was *no longer moving* any later than I did, the one-inch black smudge my sleek front end engraved on their blue fender would most probably have landed me in jail for the vehicular manslaughter of two police officers as their vehicle went on to crash into that poor couple - killing, or at least maiming, all - in what turned out to be a rather-fortunate minor rear-end collision.
>The cruiser did not budge. However, my 280xz's fiberglass front end folded like an accordian on its right side...
...necessitating the purchase of the newly-released 1997 Purple Dodge Neon I soon after acquired...my beautiful little Datsun now sadly kaputskied.
>The Neon turned out to be fun, aside from its intermittent electrical system and mechanically unsound brake system. ~~~~~~~
Personally, that pickaxe photo kinda made me smile, for I often wished to do the same myself while waiting for AAA to come to my aide.
>oh. the police gave me coffee and apologized, before driving me home. I never heard another word about the incident, despite their having taken all my info.
