They differ a lot, both in terms of appereance and their character, their actions etc. I have loved 2D Alice since the very first time I met her as Reimu in PCB. As much as I would want it to be, Alice3D isn't really a faithful representation of that Alice, the one I love. That's an issue not exclusive to Alice3D though, Alice is very misrepresented all over the place, sadly.
