The main issue we have is that the sort of lazy fuckwit who thinks just participating in civilization is a lot of hard work has no fucking intention of planting and harvesting a ton of wheat with primitive hand tools, digging a well and carrying water, working up 10 cord of firewood with a stone axe (or even with a hydraulic splitter and a chainsaw), or being out in the barn every morning at dawn tending animals.
There's a reason that the vast majority of the world's population abandoned the toil, squalor, and uncertainty of subsistence farming and went to cities to work in factories and shit during the industrial revolution.
