IF I were to make a commercial product I would have to get my own art or pay for licensing, thus I am only collecting this art for personal use.
The thing about the setting I've been working on for a long time is that it doesn't have the standard D&D races, so my friends would just be salty that they can't play cat people or bird people or lizard people or demon people or metal people or something. It's also a realm where politics, religion, and magic are all interconnected, and if I let them ravage around like I suspect they will then they won't really experience the setting as intended.
As far as publishing it goes, no plans for that. I want to just work on it until I am content with it, then polish it up nicely and maybe present it to /tg/ in a neat little pdf. I figure that in that case I could still use the art I've found online without much issue, as it would be a free hobby release for a small community. But I have only played D&D and derivative systems, and that might not be the best fit for the setting. I think that it might be better to homebrew a system, or base it off something else like GURPS.
