It does blow my mind that the Strong Nuclear Force only has a range of about 10^-15 meters (about the width of a proton/neutron), but you crack that bad boy open and the energy released is insane. Granted, it makes sense since the atoms used were fused together with the force of supernovae and colliding neutron stars, but it's still impressive to watch in action.
