I think you would enjoy Jojo. Understandably it may seem a bit daunting, but each part has something to offer even if some parts may be rougher than others. Music is also woven into the series DNA, with stands and characters being band references, not to mention the songs used for each ending.
Part 6 I think you would particularly enjoy due to the lead protagonist. The ending for that part was Distant Dreamer, which describes her to a T.
