It's far less likely, given where I was, that these are talented rigorous tech professionals, and not realtors and financial services guys and drug dealers glued to their phones all day. We made ignorance lucrative and comprehensible. I genuinely don't know these days what kind of life a high-tier software engineer has. I've seen the bands, I know they're doing fine, but generally these folks have such niche esoteric interests, it's hard for them to cross over. Maybe the arcologies will be a good thing.
