When a forced egregore emerges, allowing them to subsume their reactive greed into a violent zeitgeist to eliminate economic competition, no-one's going to say no. Too much to win. I was driving home today behind a 200k AMG roadster, a 130k Range Rover, and a butthurt X6 who clearly couldn't keep up and was driving mad. All these dudes clearly know enough to be productive. It's far less likely, given where I was, that these are talented rigorous tech professionals, and not realtors and financial services guys and drug dealers glued to their phones all day. We made ignorance lucrative and comprehensible. I genuinely don't know these days what kind of life a high-tier software engineer has. I've seen the bands, I know they're doing fine, but generally these folks have such niche esoteric interests, it's hard for them to cross over. Maybe the arcologies will be a good thing. Keep them out of harm's way when the Fifth Circle manifests and the wrathful tear each other asunder and Lysol™ gutwipes spike in sales.
