regardless getting into japan is supposed to be super free if you can get conversational in the language, especially since you know english. the average japanese person is almost 50 years old and nobody is having kids so they're trying to fix the problem by importing young people to fill out the workforce as everyone starts retiring. national pride means that speaking japanese is a very high priority and the difficulty of english for asians makes it a massive asset in the face of globalism
