It is bullshit, we became great along with the rest of the Anglosphere (and much fo the northern hemisphere including some parts of Asia) because we survived in Europe through an ice age. This caused us to evolve to be even better adaptors than the rest fo the sub-species of humanity. Hence we dominate. The early adoption of certain tech and the subsequent 'catching up' of other countries is irrelevant. Only parts of Asia will ever be able to comp[eate due to them going through similar evolutionary bottlenecks creating greater intelligence and ability to adapt and survive.
