People care about "things" like "ideas", "goals", "beliefs", "feelings". Having people to share positive experiences surrounding those things is great.
Hobbies are typically a "mode" in which you use to fulfill or express ideas/goals/beliefs. i.e. musicians typically are not 100% technical musicians, they want to capture a feeling. Even if they are technical experts, and deeply care about the technical aspects of the music it is going to be tied to a belief/feeling/idea about reaching technical perfection.
You need to find something you care about enough to change it. A lot of people find that one of the strongest motivations is the desire to change things they feel very strongly are wrong and need to be corrected.
