People get the satisfaction of productivity in work, and they love being compensated with the entire value of their labor as a commodity, but no one likes sitting in an office doing the same menial tasks way more than necessary.
What you want to do is provide what the system needs from you, take what you need, and then go on back to what you truly enjoy. There's no reason for you to argue against reduced working hours if we keep getting more productive each year.
